At first blush, babies and degrees don’t have that much in common. But, over the past three years, I’ve learned that they in fact do have much in common. Both cause you to gain weight, lose sleep, think about the future, and drain your bank account. Both are long-term commitments, require late night phone calls for encouragement to keep going, and cause you to forget important things. Both require prayer and a village of friends to be successful!
I’ve joked before that my doctorate felt like a three-year gestation. I even made that the theme of my speech at graduation! It feels as if my little one has now arrived and I get to share her with the world. And what better way to do that than with a newborn photo shoot?
