Roommates and Keurigs

My new roommate moved in last week and brought a friend: her Keurig.

I did a happy dance right there in the kitchen.

I am thankful for my new roommate, Betsy, and her Keurig, her vacuum cleaner, and her television (all of which moved out when my previous roommate left.)

But more than that I’m thankful for all of the amazing roommates I’ve had over the years. As stressful as it sometimes is to fill our house with eligible renters, it is a beautiful thing to sit with them, like I did with Betsy last weekend and hear her story. Hear about triumphs and trials. Hear how God has changed the course of her life in ways she didn’t expect. Hear about the main characters in her story and what she’s excited about for the future.

I’m thankful that I get to hear people’s stories — while sipping a joyfully brewed cup of coffee of course!
